When I made up the title for this post, I felt really special, like ‘haha. I’m a genius. Oooh, this is going to captivate hearts and minds.’ Now, I’m like, ‘meh,’ but that’s not the point.
So, it’s called the ‘Daydreamer who doesn’t dream so well.’ I have proudly repeated several times to people that I’m a daydreamer, an optimistic one! I even prepare myself to have awesome dreams, by ‘night’dreaming. I even remember my first successful night-dreaming, where I woke up from my digimon dream and then went back to continue it! I thought, that I was so powerful at the time! ‘Yes, I have conquered the dream world.’ Well, obviously I haven’t and still don’t always get to dream what I want, but I did manage to have a Sailormoon dream!
I think what inspired me, to consider how I dream, was the bible verse in Acts 2:17-19,
‘In the last days,’ God says,
‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy.
Your young men will see visions,
and your old men will dream dreams.
In those days I will pour out my Spirit
even on my servants—men and women alike—
and they will prophesy.’
Now, I know that the Spirit has been poured out, I don’t know if it has been poured out on all people, but there is a potential that everyone can receive the Holy Spirit (you know the drill, if you let Jesus into your heart). Now, my problem is that I don’t prophecy – according to the free dictionary: ‘a message of divine truth revealing God’s will,’ or ‘A prediction of the future, made under divine inspiration.’ If you like Wikipedia like I do, then you may get this definition: ‘one of the Spiritual gifts given by the indwelling Holy Spirit. From this, many Christians believe that the gift of prophecy is the supernatural ability to receive and convey a message from God. The purpose of the message may be to “edify, exhort and comfort” the members of the Church.’ I have never done that, I know a couple of people that have, but I’m not one of them and I do believe that the Holy Spirit has been poured out upon me.
I think I didn’t concentrate on prophesying much, because it is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit gives out gifts as He wills – ‘But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.’ – 1st Corinthians 12:11. I obviously have another gift and prophesying isn’t one, (just yet 😛 ).
I wonder why I never looked at seeing visions, but I think maybe I thought it was close to prophesying?! I don’t know.
It even said ‘old men will dream dreams.’ I wonder what inspired me to change up my dreams? Maybe Abi? Anyho! I’m trying to switch up my dreams, so that I’ll be able to see divine things, but now I feel like it’s another way to prophesy, accept I’m sleeping.
I’m just gonna stop writing, because I feel like I’m going in a circle and I’ll eventually confuse myself. How do I plan to get divine dreams:
